A crowd of family, activists, and concerned citizens gathered at Battelle Riverfront Park to demand answers in the unfortunate death of Jaron Thomas.

Beginning at the park, then moving to the police station downtown, people from 614 Unity, Peoples Justice Project, and family of Jaron Thomas spoke. Even the grandmother of Tyree King, the 12 year old gunned down by police in Cleveland, spoke.

The police station was closed, but there were people inside. A few taunted the protesters by making a gesture with their hands to their eyes as if they were wiping fake tears. When the crowd spotted them, the moved closer to the entrance, chanting, “we want answers!!”

The crowd then marched back to Battelle Riverfront Park, chanting “no justice, no peace!  No racist police!” There were officers watching from the top of the police building, but the protest was peaceful and successful.

Hopefully the family of Jaron Thomas can get answers soon.
