There was another police-involved shooting in Columbus, this one Friday on the west side.

Police responded to reports of kids throwing rocks at cars, and that a man was looking for the kids.

Two officers on routine patrol encountered the man who was not calm, according to police.

The officers got out of their vehicle and tried to calm the man down.

Police said the officers felt threatened and the man was shot.

The man, identified as 30-year-old Kareem Ali Nadir Jones, was taken to Mt. Carmel West Hospital in critical condition.

Neither officer was injured according to police.

Police said they recovered a gun at the scene.

The officers involved were identified by police on Saturday as Samuel James and Marc Johnson. The Columbus Division of Police said James has worked with the department for seven years and Johnson has worked for the department for four years.

Police said the shooting is still under investigation by the Critical Incident Response Team.
