According to The Cut, 20-year-old, James Alex Fields has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

Heyer’s friends started a GoFundMe and on it wrote, “Heather Heyer was murdered while protesting against hate.” Susan Bro, Heyer’s mom said, “She died doing what was right. My heart is broken, but I am forever proud of her.”

She worked as a paralegal and that day only wanted to protest the white-supremacist rally along with her co-workers.

Gov. Terry McAuliffe of Virginia offered his condolences and Heyer’s vigil will be held on Sunday at 7pm in Charlottesville’s Emancipation Park.

We will never forget Heather Heyer and will continue to keep her family and friends in our prayers.
