Who would’ve thought, that coffee may be a key to keep you living longer!

Just two to four cups a day is all you need to lower the possibility of an early death especially among middle-age drinkers.

How exactly did we come to find this out? Well, a long-term observational study was done on nearly 20,000 people in Spain and  findings were presented at the European Cardiac Society Congress 2017. The participants averaged the age of 37 and they were followed for about 10 years.

While being studied, 337 participants died. Those who consumed at least four cups a day had a 64 percent lower risk than those who rarely or never partake in the caffeinated beverage. Additionally, they found there was a 22 percent lower risk of death for those who drank only two cups a day.

 

Coffee is rich in antioxidants, in particular, chlorogenic acids, which can create a protective, anti-flammatory effect on the brain and body. Another study showed coffee lowers the risk of heart disease, liver disease and strokes.

 

Great news for coffee drinkers but researchers say other factors may play a part like age, sex and the quality of a person’s diet. The effects of coffee won’t reverse a person’s current health but can preserve it. Specialists say although the correlation between coffee consumption and lowering risk of deaths stand out, there is still no proof causation.
