While many celebrities and people from around the world continue to donate to the Red Cross, some in Houston are being criticized for not doing their part.

Televangelist Joel Osteen came under fire according to Inside Edition and was criticized after he didn’t open his church doors to offer help to flood victims.

Lakewood Church, where Joel Osteen preaches to over 17,000 per week sent out a message on Facebook saying that the church couldn’t be used because of flood damage.

The internet though found out that nothing was wrong at Lakewood church and that’s when the tweets began to roll in.

Joel and his wife Victoria sent out a message on Tuesday and were ready to offer help saying, “Victoria and I care deeply about our fellow Houstonians. Lakewood’s doors are open and we are receiving anyone who needs shelter.”

Osteen is also looking for volunteers and spoke on CNN about helping the community during this heartbreaking time.
