Travis Scott welcomed the birth of his first child, Stormi Webster, with girlfriend Kylie Jenner at the beginning of the month. The Houston rapper is continuing to rack up wins outside of his music career. Yesterday (February 10) during Missouri City’s annual Black History Month Celebration of Culture and Music, Travis was given the key to the city by Mayor Allen Owen.

Not only did the rapper get the key to the city, but February 10th was also declared to be “Travis Scott Day” for the Texan town. “On behalf of the city council and the citizens of Missouri City do hereby proclaim February the 10th, 2018 as Travis Scott day,” stated the Mayor as Travis jumped up in momentous joy.

During the ceremony, Travis, born Jacques Webster said, “All I ever wanted to do was go outside of the city and put on for the city as much as I can.” He then credited Texas with his birthing all his ideas and spoke on his gratitude. “This place right here gave me all my ideas…I owe everything to this city.”

Travis went on to commemorate his accomplishment on social media. He posted about the moment on Twitter with a picture of himself, James Harden, the mayor, and a random man, writing, “2.10.18 4 EVER.”
