Jeff Johnson talked about the death of activist, Marielle Franco and how tragic it is. She was a city councilwoman that fought for so many people, was gunned down along with her driver and now protest are beginning. Johnson explained that many think the police were involved in her death and people need to know that her struggle connects to ours.
Jay-Z is trying to improve the criminal justice system with the Promise app. It’s to help fight mass incarceration as well as people in poor communities that miss court dates and can’t afford bail money. The app is launching today.
