We know our girl Taraji P Henson said it’s all good over at Empire but that’what the ratings show.

FOX hit show premiered on March 13th and they were significantly low compared to the last episode in December. Many in the industry are pointing the finger at cast member Jussie Smollett and his current drama.

What’s worst, the March 20th episode was the lowest-rated episode ever in the show’s history. The numbers show that Empire has fallen 11 percent in ratings and 10 percent in viewership.

Show creator Lee Daniels released a statement addressing Jussie Smollett and the cast’s “frustrations.”

“These past couple of weeks have been a freakin’ rollercoaster. Me and my cast have experienced pain and anger, and sadness and frustration – and really don’t know how to deal with it, you know? ‘Cause everything has happened – which you’re seeing tonight – prior to the incident. And this is not what the show is made for. This show was made to bring America together; to talk about the atrocities that are happening right now in the streets. So, anyway, both shows are on tonight – ‘Star’ and ‘Empire.’ They’re incredible.”

WIth fans waiting to see when or if Jussie’s character dies, may help bring the ratings up (just saying).

Empire airs Wednesday nights on FOX at 8PM.
