This one took me for a loop, so I had to give the Biggest L this woman who was looking for love on match.com and thought she had found just that, with a man to claim to be a millionaire. She is out of Alpharetta, GA and she told police she met 35 yr old John Martin Hill on the matchmaking website.
She told police she sent Hill over $80k in for a house and furniture, they were house hunting.
Alpharetta Detectives began an investigation into Hill and said they determined that he lived at an apartment in unincorporated Duluth with a woman and child.
Police believe this woman isn’t the only one who has been allegedly scammed by Hill. They said he’s accused of similar crimes in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and Virginia.
Officials have issued a warrant for Hill’s arrest charging him with felony theft by deception.
