With opiod addiction becoming a huge problem in not only Ohio but, in the US. it is time to not only hold the company making these drugs responsible, but to also hold the doctors prescribing them responsible for their actions.
An Ohio doctor, William Husel, is being charged and tried for murder. He was working at Mount Carmel Heath and was recently suspeded due to the investigation on his case. This doctor has been over prescribing huge doses of opioids to patients that are close to death. According to NBC news the prosecutor had this to say about the case “”I’ve been a prosecutor for 22 years and have not seen a 25-count indictment during those years,”. Columbus Police are disgusted by this doctors actions. If convicted William faces 15 years to life in prison.
