The burgeoning film career of Scott Mescudi continues apace. Deadline reports that Kid Cudi has signed on to the upcoming sequel Bill & Ted Face the Music.

Cudi’s role has not been revealed but he’ll join Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter as the middle-aged pals try to save the world, thanks to a prophecy from a time traveler marking them as the one(s). Apparently, Bill and Ted will have to use a song to save the Earth and bring harmony to the universe (which seems like something early Cudi would have said without a wink). While Cudi’s part is unknown, a press release claimed he “has a significant role.”

The story will add a few tricks to the arsenal of the two bumbling main characters, bringing along their daughters as they meet another batch of historical figures and musicians. We know that both Reeves and Winter will throw themselves into the roles, as they have been gunning for a sequel for years.

Cudi has proven capable in comedies, with spots on Entourage and the Andy Samberg-led cop sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine; he was also on HBO’s short-lived How to Make It in America. Acting might be what Cudi was talking about when he told fans he’s finding time to explore things outside of music earlier this month.
