Numbers for April comic book sales are in, and at the top of the list is Ta-Nehisi Coates‘ Black Panther. Coates, a journalist who won the National Book Award for his Between the World and Me, took over writing for Marvel’s first Black superhero last year and this is his debut in the series.

Vulture reports:

“Not only was Black Panther the top-selling comic of the month, it’s also the top-selling comic of this calendar year. North American retailers ordered an estimated 253,259 copies of the issue, while the second-place finisher (for the month as well as the year) only snagged 175,322.”

If you’ve yet to check out the first two issues, get to it! You can find it here.
