Mangini to Stay Through 2010
We don’t know how he did it (voodoo?) but Eric Mangini will stay on as Cleveland’s head coach through 2010. He and new team president Mike Holmgren met Thursday and decided to give him a second chance. After a 1-11 start to the season, Mangini managed to pull four straight wins out of his a** to close the season with four straight wins and many think that’s what saved him. “I was able to gain some tremendous insight into his thought process and philosophies, and came away from our meetings very impressed,” Holmgren said in a statement. “In my opinion, Eric has gained the respect and admiration of players, coaches and others in the organization, and with him continuing to lead the team I feel that we are headed in the right direction.” Here’s hoping.
