Wyclef Jean is looking to his fans to support his native Haiti.  The Island country was hit with it’s largest Earthquake in history yesterday (January 12, 2010).  Wyclef is asking his 1, 290, 000 followers to each donate $5 to his non-profit organization by texting “Yele” to 501501, sending aid to his homeland

The Former “Fugees” member told AllHipHop.com:

“The magnitude 7.0 earthquake – and several very strong aftershocks – struck only 10 miles from Port-au-Prince. I cannot stress enough what a human disaster this is, and idle hands will only make this tragedy worse. The over 2 million people in Port-au-Prince tonight face catastrophe alone. We must act now.”

G-Unit Member and fellow Haitian Native Tony Yayo also commented on the tragedy:

“Its a sad day for Haiti My thoughts and prayers are with everyone and there families. Bout 2 call my family,”
