Akron, OH: A guard at the Summit County Jail has been suspended for 10 days after surveillance video captured the guard slapping an inmate in the head, knocking the man to the ground. According to the incident report filed the night of the altercation, Dempsey used what was described as a “palm strike” to push inmate Douglas Brown, 42, away from a piece of computer equipment at a booking terminal. The surveillance video of the incident tells a different story. It shows Brown seated near the computer equipment holding a portable fingerprint reader. After being told by Dempsey to put down the fingerprint reader, Brown responded by showing his middle finger to the deputy.” – MSN
