Em Goes Platinum as He Tops Charts Again
Eminem’s Recovery CD tops Billboard’s 200 chart for the third week in a row – the first album to do so since Sade’s Soldier of Love in March. With 229,000 copies sold this week, Recovery is also the first album since Lady Antebellum’s Need You Now to sell at least 200,000 in each of its first three weeks (they did it in January and February). That total also puts Recovery’s sales at the 1.3 million mark, certifying it Platinum. Drake’s Thank Me Later is at Number 2 for the third week while Big Boi’s Sir Lucious Left Foot … The Son of Chico Dusty debuts in third with 62,000 sold. Meanwhile, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse soundtrack fell one spot to Number 4 and Justin Bieber’s My World 2.0 moves up one to Number 5.
