ESPN Films to Cover Tupac’s Last Night
ESPN Films’ 30 for 30 series features 30 documentaries by some of today’s best filmmakers that tell the stories surrounding the sports landscape from when the network launched in 1979 through 2009. On the docket from director Reggie Rock Bythewood is One Night in Vegas, which will follow the events of September 7, 1996. That was the night Mike Tyson fought Bruce Seldon. And it’s the night that Tyson’s friend, Tupac Shakur, was gunned down and killed on the Vegas strip. Pac sat ringside at the fight and was supposed to celebrate with Tyson at an after party … but Pac never showed up. Bythewood’s documentary will follow the events of that night as well as the friendship between Tyson and Tupac. It airs on September 7th at 10 p.m. – the 14th anniversary of Tupac’s death.
