Tuesday afternoon South Carolina native 29-year-old Shaquan Duley admitted to suffocating her sons 2-year-old Devean and 18-month-old Ja’van with her own hands, strapping their bodies into a car, then driving the car into a river on Monday.
Authorities were suspicious of Duley’s initial story that the car crashing into the river was an accident, as her clothes were completely dry.
Orangeburg County Sheriff Larry Williams said Duley, single and unemployed, confessed to killing her children after getting into a heated argument with her mother, feeling she could not handle the responsibilities of being a mother.
Duley has been charged with murder, arraignment is scheduled for later today.
