Former Ohio State star running back Maurice Clarett could be released from prison early. A Franklin County Common Pleas judge will decide whether to grant Clarett an early judicial release. Clarett is more than three years into a seven-year prison sentence after he plead guilty to aggravated robbery and carrying a concealed weapon in 2006. Last summer, Clarett withdrew a similar request when Franklin County prosecutor Ron O’Brien opposed the request. At the time, O’Brien said Clarett’s off the field conduct did not warrant special consideration. O’Brien now says he will not oppose the new request.
