2017 Jay Z re-invented himself as a self-reflecting, honest sage, finally releasing his response to Beyonce’s infidelity accounts on ‘Lemonade’ with his own project, ‘4:44.’ The rap legend went on tour shortly after, with snatched post-twins Beyonce slaying away next to him. The parents of three seem more in love than ever in this new transparent iteration of their relationship. They’ve come a long way from ’03 Bonnie & Clyde.

2. Idris Elba & Sabrina D’howre

Idris Elba’s devoted fans were both jealous and elated when he arrived at the Toronto International Film Festival with beauty Sabrina D’howre on his arm earlier this year. The couple has since made many public appearances as a couple, even visiting Buckingham Palace to meet Prince Charles. With Idris having many public breakups under his belt, we hope this one sticks!

3. Cardi B & Offset

Rapper Cardi B can’t stop, won’t stop. With numerous hits on the charts, including her career making track, ‘Bodak Yellow,’ love was just the icing for this MC’s year. Along the ride, Cardi linked up with rapper Offset from the trio, Migos, solidifying her place in modern hip-hop royalty. Offset proposed to Cardi B in front of thousands of fans in October, making 2017 definitely Cardi’s best year ever.

4. Remy Ma & Papoose

Destiny’s Child alum LeToya Luckett wed Tommicus Walker just this month after a short courtship. Their nuptials were officiated by Pastor John Gray, who prophesied to Luckett that her husband was on the way before she met Walker. The pair connected through a mutual friend, and got to know each other over the phone before ever meeting in person. Through prayer and conversation, the duo found love. What a happily ever after!

7. Ciara & Russell Wilson

Russell’s embrace of his step-son Future remains a co-parenting dream for single moms who are looking for a fresh start. The pair expanded their family by one this year, welcoming their first child Sienna Wilson into the fold. The Wilsons continue to give love to each other, and the world, through their many public philanthropic appearances.

8. Nessa & Colin Kaepernick

They say behind every good man is a great woman–and athlete-turned-activist Colin Kaepernick needed the support of his girlfriend Nessa as he faced a wave of backlash from his kneeling protest in favor of Black Lives Matter. The pair have been spotted on red carpets, as well as completing community service events together. Through it all, their love remains strong.

9. Angela Rye & Common

This love is woke af. Political commentator Angela Rye and rapper Common made their first public appearance as a couple at the Creative Arts Emmys this year. With both Rye & Common being so community minded, it’s no wonder love and activism blossomed between the two. She’s a wonderful woman, I’m dating, I’m happy right now, and she’s an incredible human being,” Common told Sirius XM of his lady.

10. Gucci Mane & Keyshia Kaoir

Entrepreneur Keyshia Ka’oir and rapper Gucci’s Mane’s love is the stuff ‘ride or die’ is made of. The pair had to wait to get married until Gucci finished his prison bid, but patience had its perfect work. Gucci credits Keyshia with his new healthy lifestyle and positive outlook on life. The couple was wed in a diamond studded televised ceremony this October. While the wealthy couple may be so “icey,” their love seems nothing but warm.
