HB’s Favorite Things

When it comes to the beauty products we love the most, perfume is right up there with our favorite red lip. It’s an essential and if we had our choice, we would have an unlimited supply of fragrances at our disposal.

2020 was rough, but it taught us many things. We learned to cherish things and service we once took for granted. We became invested in everything DIY. We adapted new self-care routines and experimented with products that brought us joy. And smelly goods was among the products we leaned in to to make us feel good.

There are few things more powerful than scent. The sense of smell has the ability to plunge us straight into a warm memory or jolt us into the mood for a night of excitement. At a time when so many of our paths to luxury experiences are blocked a light mist of a pleasant scent can give a sliver of the joy we deserve. Whether you want to smell like the canceled vacation you deserve or the public garden you spent your summer hiding out in there’s an option to lift your spirits.

See some of our favorite fragrances of 2020, below:

The designer that Kamala Harris chose to take a stand in suffragette white serves up a strong fragrance in unique packaging. The sharp stiletto heel is intended to represent the DNA of a good girl. Inside of the cheeky container Carolina Herrera offers up a blend of sweet mandarin, smoothing sambac jasmine, willowy ylang-ylang, syrupy green pear and spicy tonka beans. Give it to the strongest baddie you know, even if it’s the woman in the mirror.

Today’s travel perfumes come in sets that allow you to try something new without being stuck and make more room in your carryon for your next road trip. Slip this skimpy cylinder full of juicy red berries and muted white musk into your fanny pack for your next socially distanced day date.

3. Estée Lauder Intuition Eau de Parfum

While trendy options have come and gone throughout the years Intuition has been a staple in the medicine cabinets and on the tops of the dresser drawers of our foremothers for good reason. The original container has changed but the scent’s power has stayed the same. Bergamot, roses, gardenia, and amber come together to present a distinctly calming presence. Mist yourself in the light of Intuition and embrace your inner auntie with this unforgettable classic.

Happy In Bloom is the perfect pop of Spring to cure your winter blues. Not ready to commit to a signature? The brand has splintered the popular fragrance into a series of five light spritzes called My Happy. They can be worn alone or combined to make a signature statement.

5. Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium Eau de Parfum

This new take on Opium is just as impactful as the original. Dousing yourself with this vampy selection can turn a standard night on the living room couch into a sexy cuddle session. The addition of coffee to the serene white flowers and sweet vanilla base give this scent a surprising bite. The result is a combination that makes it more modern, and edgy than its disco era predecessor. Dab it everywhere you feel needs a little spice.
