This one is for all of you all that think Columbus is boring or has nothing to offer…. According to ESPN our great city has been asked by The United States Olympic Committee to consider hosting the 2024 Olympic games. Only has asked 35 cities across the country have been asked and I think it’s a great honor to be considered. Plus Columbus is the only city in our state of Ohio to be considered.
It is a long process and according to ESPN letters have been sent to the mayors of the top 25 cities and 10 others to gauge interest in hosting. This will be the first time for the summer games to return to the US since the 1996 games in Atlanta. The letters are not a guarantee but rather an initial step in evaluating a potential bid.
