Alpha Announces 2010 Jewel Award Recipients
Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., the oldest historically black Greek-lettered, inter-collegiate fraternity in the world, announced the 2010 Jewel Awards recipients for Columbus, Ohio. Seven civic leaders will receive a “Jewel Award” in memory and honor of the achievements of one of the seven fraternity founders, who members refer to as “Jewels.” Each of the founders emphasized the importance of community service and the awards are given in recognition and respect of that ideal.
