Earlier this week, two tracks from Aaliyah’s forthcoming posthumous album leaked, which excited many fans. Unfortunately, the songs “Quit Hatin” and “Girlfriends” were incomplete and not ready for listeners’ ears. Blackground Records, the label behind all Aaliyah’s albums, stopped the rumors of the tracks with an official statement.

“The track ‘Quit Hatin’ by Aaliyah was  leaked without authorization from Blackground Records as the track is an incomplete recording from past studio sessions…We will release it through a formal announcement. We appreciate the enthusiasm from devoted fans of Aaliyah and the constant celebration of her life and music that has transcended to a new generation of music lovers.”

Young Money artist, Drake, is leading the creative direction for the upcoming project, which has brought on disapproval from Missy Elloit, Ginuwine, Timbaland, and others. The project is expected to have sixteen tracks with new producers and past collaborators.READ MORE
