COLUMBUS, Ohio – A man has been charged with hitting a Columbus police officer with his vehicle Monday night.

Court documents indicate that Corey D. Coverdale was charged with felonious assault.

Police said that Coverdale was involved in an alleged heroin transaction when officers approached him.

They said he was arrested with more than 23 grams of heroin in his possession.
