Ravin Mays

A man was shot after an exchange of gunfire on the city’s east side, Saturday.

 

According to Franklin County Sheriff Zach Scott, 20-year-old Ravin Mays, had tried to vandalize the apartments with gang-related graffiti in the Cross Key Apartment complex on Chartterton Road Saturday, when residents ran him off of the property.

 

According to the sheriff’s office, Mays returned to the complex at about 9:05 p.m., wearing body armor and armed with a firearm. He was accompanied by 18-year-old, Justin Fairbanks.

 

Upon arriving at the complex, Mays and 45-year-old Nils Wiliams, who was already at the

complex, exchanged gunfire, according to the sheriff’s office.

Fairbanks was wounded in the exchange and was transported to an area hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound to the body. He is expected to survive, according to the sheriff’s office.

 

Mays was arrested and charged with felonious assault.

 

Williams was also arrested on an outstanding warrant for felonious assault, according to the sheriff’s office.

 

Corey Lowe, 24, was taken into custody by deputies at the scene. He was charged with tampering with evidence after he allegedly disposed of Williams’ weapon.
