COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State running back Carlos Hyde has been named a person of interest in an assault investigation.
According to a Columbus police report, the incident allegedly occurred at the Sugar Bar 2 on South Front Street early on Saturday morning.
A woman said she was physically assaulted at the bar. She said she did not know the assailant but could identify him.
A police report names Hyde as a person of interest.
No charges have been filed as part of the investigation.
Hyde is entering his senior year with the Buckeyes and is set to be a key part of the Urban Meyer offense. For his career, Hyde had 1,677 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns.
According to the Ohio State website, Hyde is majoring in African-American and African studies at Ohio State.
Ohio State officials told 10TV that they plan to release a statement about the issue on Monday. The Columbus Dispatch reported on Monday that Hyde will be released from the team. SOURCE
