WHITEHALL, Ohio – People across America and here in central Ohio are hitting the streets today, fighting back against crime in their neighborhoods.

This is the 30th annual National Night Out,  which is a non-profit organization dedicated to the development and promotion of various crime prevention programs in communities across America.

In central Ohio, Whitehall police are getting ready for their communities 9th annual national night out.

Whitehall police say while the event is about having fun and meeting people, they’re mainly focused on educating residents on how to stay safe in their own community.

Whitehall is offering a number of free events, including free fingerprinting and inflatable obstacle courses for kids.

But there will also be demonstrations from Whitehall police, fire, animal control.

10TV’s own Angela An and Jerry Revish will be anchoring 10TV’s evening newscast from the Whitehall event.

They’ll be talking about crime prevention, and give you inside look at the Whitehall S.W.A.T. vehicle.
