A man is out of the hospital and another is in jail after a shooting and a barricade and during two children’s birthday parties.

Chillicothe Police barricaded an area along East 4th and Ewing streets for several hours Saturday night after a brawl broke out between two families celebrating two different birthday parties. Bryan Bobo said a bullet grazed his forehead.

Bobo was at a 16-year-old’s birthday before the fight started. He confronted a neighbor about lighting fireworks.

Police arrested 22-year-old Malcolm Turner and charged him with felonious assault. Turner’s sister, Kesha Pitts, said he didn’t shoot. Pitts said the fight involved at least 20 people.

“Everybody just started bum rushing and hitting people with two by fours,” Elizabeth Betts said, family friend of Turner. “There was no gun involved.” Pitts was throwing a birthday party for her 4-year-old during the ordeal.

“They were partying on their own side and they wanted to start something else,” Pitts said. Bobo said the other man had a weapon and he started defending himself. “We started throwing blows. I got up, grabbed the gun and we started fighting,” Bobo said.

Chillicothe Police tell ABC 6/FOX 28 shots were fired. Investigators have not said if they have recovered a weapon.

Malcom Turner was taken to the Ross County jail. He is scheduled to appear before a judge tomorrow. Detectives have not said if others will be charged at this time. SEE VIDEO HERE
