Macklemore may not have released a new album in 2013 or 2014, but that’s all going to change this year, according to “The Heist” MC.

When a fan recently said that they didn’t get a new Macklemore album last year on Twitter, the rapper responded: “You will this year. Believe that.”

Billboard reports that a source has confirmed that this is true. A new Macklemore album is expected in the second half of the year, the source said. No other details were revealed.

“The Heist,” which was co-created by Macklemore and his producer Ryan Lewis, was released in 2012.

Macklemore recently made headlines when he spoke about race during an interview with Hot 97.

“This is not a culture that white people started,” Macklemore said, speaking about hip-hop. “So I do believe, as much as I have honed my craft, as much as I have put in years of dedication into the music that I love, I do believe that I need to know my place, and that comes from me listening.”

During that interview, he also discussed white privilege. “I got put in that hero box. It’s because of privilege,” he said. “It all boils down to privilege. White privilege is what I’m talking about.”
