Kevin Love was adamant throughout the season he was committed to signing long term with the Cavaliers. Apparently that isn’t going to prevent him from shopping around first.
Love will visit with the Los Angeles Lakers later this week, according to multiple reports, while Yahoo Sports reported the Boston Celtics are still waiting to hear if they’ll get time with the free agent forward.
The Cavs are willing to offer Love a five-year deal worth more than $100 million, but he has to be willing to sign it. As word of Love’s meeting with the Lakers circulated on Wednesday, the Cavs privately remained confident he’s returning to Cleveland next season.
League executives speculated for months Love would listen to a pitch from the Lakers this summer, which proved accurate.
