B.I.G. things are coming to TBS.

The network announced on Thursday that it will be developing a scripted comedy inspired by Brooklyn-rapper Notorious B.I.G., entitled Think B.I.G..

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the series will chronicle the misadventures of an inner-city teen desperately trying to create a better future for his daughter and infant son. The plot will be loosely based on his lyrics. The comedy is being produced and created by Mass Appeal, in partnership with Wayne Barrow of Bystorm Films and Voletta Wallace for Notorious B.I.G. Inc.

For those of you who like a good hip-hop inspired film or television show, there’s a ton in the works.

In addition the VH1’s The Breaks movie becoming a television series, Baz Luhrmann will be behind Netflix’s The Get Down, a 70’s era show about the emergence of hip-hop during the disco era.

There’s also The Land, a film being executive produced by Nas and Erykah Badu, that tells the story of three boys who sell ecstasy to fund their skateboard competitions.

Aside from the Biggie-inspired show on TBS, the network picked up 10 episodes of animated digital series Storyville, also in conjunction with Mass Appeal.

Storyville and Think B.I.G. speak to the types of projects we will cultivate with Mass Appeal moving forward,” said Brett Weitz, executive vp original programming at TBS. “Mass Appeal is a leader in developing unique stories with diverse voices. There’s no better partner for us to connect with this vibrant, impassioned audience.”

Can’t wait for all these projects!
