Rapper Lil Yachty has made a name for himself and has a couple of hits under his belt. While his music has certainly gained him some fans, he has also earned infamy and the ire of the hip-hop community by demonstrating how little of rap’s most historic music he’s actually listened to before building a career in it.

Most notably, he was quoted very dismissively saying he’d have a hard time listing five songs by Tupac and Biggie, and even referred to the latter as “overrated.” While the outrage over this is expected, Headkrack explains why it’s actually not so crazy for a rapper nowadays to say something like that.
