Cardi B is on a career high at the moment. She currently has the title of being the female rapper with the longest reign of a solo hit on the Billboard 100, with “Bodak Yellow” topping the charts for a third week. She won three awards at this year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards: Best New Artist, Single of the Year, and Hustler of the Year. No matter her accolades Cardi B has remained to be that “regular degular” girl from The Bronx.
This past weekend, the now-25-year-old hosted a weekend getaway at the Barcelo Bavaria Beach resort in the Dominican Republic. She has roots there as her father’s side of the family is Dominican, and she’s even released a Spanish remix to “Bodak Yellow” during the DR Parade in NYC. Unfortunately, sometime during the event while Cardi was onstage someone in the crowd decided to douse champagne on her and her crew.
Cardi responded: “Don’t throw no muthaf**kin’ champagne cause we can throw these hands. I don’t give a f**k. I don’t give a f**k my n***a! I don’t give a f**know what you paid for it my n***a, you can see me in New York because I don’t care. It’s that that serious, I don’t care but you’re not going to be disrespecting my people.”
