SMH, New Zealand Officials covered up a 1981 Assassination attempt on Queen Elizabeths life.
They feared they would lose future Royal tours.
New Zealand Security Intelligence Service says that Christopher Lewis at the time was 17 yrs old, fired a shot at the Queen during her October 1981 visit to Dunedin. Afterwards he was arrested. A rifle an used gun cartridge were found in a building overlooking QE2’s parking lot.
According to some documents Lewis intended to Kill Elizabeth, but was never charged for it
