The bill is explained to “protect parents rights.”

The Dayton Daily News reports that a bill was introduced to the Ohio House that would require schools to identify transgender students and “out” students to their parents

This bill was introduced by two Republicans which the party nationally have been pushing for these types of bills to become law.

 

Rep. Paul Zeltwanger, of Mason says he wants to “protect parents rights,” and says after students who re transgender turn 18-years-old they can “do whatever they want.” As far as the rights Rep. Zeltwanger is talking about is the right to not encounter gender dysphoria treatment from their minor children.

Teacher unions have protested the bill saying it will lead to an unsafe environment for transgender students.
