Parents here’s what you need to know about the fastest growing crime among teens.

Many parents worry that their child can get caught up in a bad situation when having access to the internet. Many know about the problems in sexting but many haven’t heard about ‘sextortion.’

The FBI says sextortion is becoming a huge problem among teens who put themselves in compromising situations. Many victims are told to either pay to avoid having photos or videos leaked on the internet or suffer the embarrassment. This of course like revenge porn is against the law.

Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien says sextortion often begins as sexting and victims begin as willing participants. In the past four years 81 juveniles, some as young as 11-years-old, have been charged with sexting crimes.
