Gas pumps out of service

Thanksgiving is a week away and many travelers will be hitting the road soon to visit family friends and others for days of feasting and relaxing. But a high appetite for the holidays usually comes with high gas prices as well.

According to GasBuddy.com however, gas prices across the country are expected to drop next Tuesday and Wednesday at an average of 5-10 cent per gallon. Current gas prices in Columbus range from 2.30 – 2.59 but could be as low as 2.20 by the time Thanksgiving rolls around.

The site recommends drivers holding off on filling up before the holiday to get the best deal on their holiday tank fill-ups.

Patrick DeHaan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy said, “Motorists need not be in a hurry to fill their tanks. Today’s sell-off will extend and accelerate the declines seen at the pump, just in time for Thanksgiving. The best tip I can suggest is to shop around for the lowest prices as some stations will pass on the savings faster than others.”
