The 61st Annual GRAMMY Awards will air this Sunday February 10th LIVE on CBS at 8 p.m Eastern Standard Time. 2018 was an exciting year in music with many new faces emerging as rising stars.

For the first time, the 2019 Grammy Awards are going to be hosted by the sultry singer, Alicia Keys. Keys, who has an impressive line up of Grammy awards herself (15), is overjoyed to have been selected to host this years award show. “I know what it feels like to be on that stage, and I’m going to bring that vibe and energy,” said Keys. “I’m so excited to be the master of ceremonies on the biggest night in music and celebrate the creativity, power, and magic. I’m especially excited for all the incredible women nominated this year! It’s going UP on February 10!”

Speaking of the women nominated, this years Grammy’s will undoubtedly be full of girl power! Some of the years favorites include, Cardi B, H.E.R, SZA, Janelle Monae, Ella Mai, Chloe & Halle, Toni Braxton, and Beyonce. 2018 break out star H.E.R. received a whopping 5 Grammy nominations, including Best New Artist, Best R&B Album, and Album of the Year. Cardi B follows that wave with 5 Grammy nominations as well, including Record of the Year and Album of the Year. Both H.E.R and Cardi are set to perform along with Chloe & Halle, Janelle Monae, Lady Gaga and Fantasia, who is honoring the late Aretha Franklin, with gospel powerhouse Yolanda Adams.

Also hitting the stage at the 2019 Grammy Awards ceremony is legendary superstar Diana Ross! Ms.Ross will make history once again, honoring her life long career and birthday with a special 75th Diamond Diana performance.

While I am all for the recognition of my girls, we absolutely can not leave out this years leading men! Kendrick Lamar exceeds them all with a total of eight Grammy noms and Drake is hot on his heels with 7 nominations. K.Dot is recognized highly for his writing on the “Black Panther” movie soundtrack while Drake received the most commercial success as an artist in 2018. Rap underdogs, Nipsey Hussle and Pusha T, both nabbed nominations this year for Best Rap Album. Also nominated for Grammy’s this year, Houston rap phenom Travis Scott, visionary Childish Gambino, newly nominated 6lack and soulful singer Miguel!

Following the Grammy’s will be a celebration of one of musics most historic record labels, Motown! Motown 60: A GRAMMY Celebration will be taped live February 12th in LA. The special will not air until late April but is set to have a huge line up of musics most notable artists to honor the legendary record label. Hosted by Grammy winning artist Smokey Robinson and Cedric The Entertainer this show will be a memorable tribute to the iconic sound that changed America. Performers include, Boyz II Men, Fantasia, John Legend, NEYO and the incredible Stevie Wonder.

The 61st Annual Grammy Awards will definitely be one to watch! Grab some friends, some good wine and tune in this Sunday!
