You see it in the news cycle almost every day. Our intelligence agency stating that our 2016 election was compromised based on cybersecurity. Ohio is taking a stand to make sure this does not happen again.
Republican Secretary of State Frank LaRose testified on a new measure in cybersecurity on Tuesday in the Statehouse. The new bill will allow LaRose’s office and the Ohio National Guard “to enhance resilience and improve responsiveness to elections cyberattacks.” LaRose will also get a seat on the Ohio Homeland Security Advisory Council and be able to appoint a chief information security officer.
The measure is being backed by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
