Can we represent for the 99’s and the 2000’s real quick! Mannie Fresh and Weezy have collaborated once again and a new album is on the way!
In an interview with XXL, Mannie confirmed that with so much music and material created during the production of Carter V, they’ll be condensing it into one joint project entitled, “The Fresh Files”.

Before Nikki and Drake took over hip hop charts, Mannie Fresh was holding it down for Cash Money! As a producer and DJ, he laid the foundation for one of hip hops hottest record labels. He is the architect of the original Cash Money sound. With smash hits like Lil Wayne’s “Go DJ” and B.G’s “Bling Bling”, which is celebrating its 20 year anniversary this month, Mannie Fresh has a portfolio full of certified classics.
“The world is definitely going to get those records,” Mannie said about the plethora of tracks on deck with Weezy.
“I feel like it’s the Wayne that people want to hear,” he added.
The success of Carter V makes Mannie confident that the new album will be appreciated by fans.
Until the collab actually drops, you can enjoy throwbacks from Wayne and Mannie. The 20th annniversary of “Tha Block is Hot” is coming up also. Mannie Fresh is focused on fans taking it back with classic hits.
“I’m super blessed that my songs are still being played and are still in rotation 20 years later,” he said. “…these songs have stood the test of time. Thats incredible to me and I feel super blessed!”
