The Bey-Hive is not going for Taylor Swift’s shenanigans!! The pop star is under heavy fire after a very similar performance to that of Beyoncé’s EPIC Coachella performance. The masses are calling her out and claiming she was blatantly copying Queen Bey!!
On Wednesday night, Taylor Swift opened up the 2019 Billboard Music Awards with her new single, “Me” However, before she even hit the stage, Black Twitter called the songstress out for jacking Beyonce’s entire ‘Homecoming’ theme.
To kick off her performance, an all-pink marching band marched across the stage to a whistle and cadence, as Swift emerged from the back. Backed by dancers in pastel colors and fringe, Swift performed alongside Brendon Urie. Black Twitter swiftly renamed the Billboard set, “Mayochella” and are criticizing Swift for being a “professional troll.”
Beyoncé’s “Homecoming” documentary, which dropped on Netflix just two weeks ago, showcases the thought and rehearsal that went into her Coachella performances, designed, she said, to honor African-American culture and historically black universities through her music selections, costumes and choreography.
Beyoncé was the first black woman to headline Coachella. Her performances at the event, affectionately dubbed “Beychella” by attendees, were without question history-making and distinctly Beyoncé.
