It’s a Saints-Colts Super Bowl!
The Saints are going to the Super Bowl for the first time in team history, thanks to a field goal in sudden death overtime by 23-year-old Garrett Hartley. Tied 28-28 in the closing minutes of the NFC Championship yesterday, the Vikings were fighting for field goal position when Brett Favre threw an interception. The Saints got possession in overtime and scored first. Game over at 31-28.
Earlier in the day, the Jets held their own in the first quarter of the AFC Championship – you know, for a team that shouldn’t have even been there in the first place. Being up by 11 heading into the second half wasn’t enough, though. The Colts came back for the 30-17 win led by Peyton Manning, who threw for 377 yards. He became the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for over 300 yards in seven postseason games, breaking the tie he had with Kurt Warner and Joe Montana.

The Saints and the Colts will see each other in two weeks in Miami. We just wonder who Archie Manning will be pulling for – his son or his former team.
