According to XConnect: No Surprise Here: Drake Debuts on Top

Drake’s Thank Me Later LP has debuted on top of the Billboard Hot 200, and nearly went gold doing so. Thank Me Later sold 447,000 copies in its first week, making it the biggest debut week for a solo act’s album since Susan Boyle’s I Dreamed a Dream entered at Number 1 with 701,000 copies sold last November. Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers’ Mojo debuts at Number 2, Sarah McLachlan’s Laws of Illusion debuts at Number 3 and the Now 34 compilation CD debuts at Number 4. That means the only album in the Top 5 that didn’t debut this week was Jack Johnson’s To The Sea, which fell one spot to Number 5.
