Eminem Covers VIBE, Stays #1 in the U.K.
Eminem and Dr. Dre are on the cover of the latest issue of VIBE magazine and in the interview, Em is asked about the tragic death of Brittany Murphy, who he starred with in 2002’s 8 Mile. Em, who almost died himself because of a drug overdose, said that the news was crazy. “It’s crazy because at one point we were very close and she was a really good person. It’s crazy when you see things not just with her but just all these things that are happening in Hollywood with people in music, with people in acting.” Em was also asked if he thinks about his own death. “I think about it a lot,” he said. “I try not to think about it but I do and it creeps me the f**k out. It creeps me out because they say that if I got to the hospital two hours later then I would be gone. I think about that a lot. When I lay in bed at night is when I think about it the most. It creeps me out man.”
Meanwhile, Em’s Recovery has topped the U.K. albums chart again, this time holding off Sir Tom Jones’ Praise and Blame. Jones, the 70-year-old “She’s a Lady” singer, was attempting to be the oldest male musician in the world to have a #1 album on the charts and it looked like he would until a late week surge in Recovery sales.
