Chris Brown’s mom, Joyce Hawkins, is in damage control mode after tweeting earlier this week that “Michael Jackson died so that Chris Brown could live.”
The tweet sent the internet, and MJ fans worldwide, into a blind rage. Though it was eventually deleted, screen grabs of the tweet spread like wildfire.
Hawkins issued the following statement to USA Today (good lookin’ out on the link back here, guys!):
I’m so sorry that the tweet I sent yesterday was misunderstood. What I meant to say is that Chris has always been inspired by Michael Jackson’s music and his career.
