WEST JEFFERSON, Ohio – A man wanted in New York since 1985 was arrested in Ohio.
Gary G. Smith was arrested Thursday in West Jefferson and was slated to be arraigned on Monday.
Smith, 66, was wanted out of Livingston County, N.Y., for failing to appear for his trial for rape, sodomy and kidnapping.
His court appearance was scheduled for June 1985.
Since that time, Smith was featured on “America’s Most Wanted” multiple times.
