Philadelphia Inquirerer reporter Stephen A. Smith is citing multiple NBA sources who say that Allen Iverson isn’t just dealing with the health of his 4-year-old daughter. According to them, the four-time NBA scoring champ is battling gambling and alcohol problems [In the NBA? Unheard of!]. Iverson left the 76ers in February and said he needed to be with his daughter, who has an unknown illness, however insiders say there’s “widespread concern” that Iverson will either “drink himself into oblivion or gamble his life away.” Iverson’s gambling is reportedly so bad that he’s been banned from casinos in both Detroit and Atlantic City. Making things worse, Iverson’s wife of almost nine years filed for divorce on March 4th, saying the marriage was “irretrievably broken.” She’s looking for full custody, child support and alimony.
