Power 107.5 would like to congratulate Marshall Shorts. He is one of few, a Power 30 Under 30 Award Recipient. Marshall wields the brush like a sword and slays the typical stereotypes of an artist. He not only creates art, he creates the experience.

Marshall Shorts, a visual communication consultant, artist and event planner, has hosted the BRUSH Experience, an art-centered alternative to nightlife where the patrons paint, for more than a year. The event, held at The Method Gallery in the Lincoln District features live music, refreshments, personal-sized canvases and a larger, paint-by-numbers community mural.

BRUSH has been attended by Mayor Michael Coleman, and featured in The Columbus Dispatch, at local festivals, events and corporate gatherings, including Columbus State Community College, The Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD), COSI and other local businesses.

Shorts, who is creative director of his own design and events firm Soulo Theory Creative, has also designed for the STAND Against Tobacco campaign, Columbus Urban League, South Central Ohio Minority Supplier Development Council, REACH Communications, Nationwide Insurance, COSI, Urban Spirit Coffee Shop, Columbus Parks and Recreation, The Ohio State African & African American Studies, the Liquid Crystal Project and many other businesses.

The Cleveland native and father earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in industrial design with a minor in advertising and graphic from CCAD, and is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
