Cissy Houston, mother of pop star Whitney Houston, is releasing a book about her late daughter next week, according to a story in the New Jersey Star Ledger.

In “Remembering Whitney: My Story of Love, Loss and the Night the Music Stopped,” Houston talks about her daughter’s drug addiction and how she was hesitant to intervene in her daughter’s life for fear of losing her.

“What was the point” of reaching out, Houston wrote in the book to be released Jan. 29. “I didn’t want her to run completely away from me.”

People Magazine obtained an advance copy of the book, and reported that Houston wrote that she is angry that her daughter died by herself.

“I’m angry she died alone, in those conditions,” she says. “I’m still mad about that.”

Whitney Houston died nearly a year ago when she drowned in a bathtub in a hotel in Los Angeles on the eve of the Grammy Awards. An autopsy confirmed cocaine n her system at the time of her death. READ MORE
